HiI've got an opportunity to buy a used rig from an aquantance who hasn't set an asking price. When I look at $ for new Lincoln Precision TIG 225 I lose all hope.Should I be offering $600, $800, even $1000 for this or will I just be offending the guy?It would be for hobby/motorcycle building/occasional Aluminum - not for business really.Any insight is very appreciated. Thanks, JC
Reply:check out the price for a new one, also if it includes tank and gauge, water cooler etc. that is worth some cash too... $1000 for a 225 tig is a great price. if its in good condition, lower would be an offending price. make sure it has a foot controlTiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:...and the PT225's dont seem to suffer from the maladies the 185 exhibits.....You'll want the foot Amptrol, the torch mounted control is fine for an experienced person but the foot control is easier. If it has a water cooled torch, add 500 bucks and if it comes with a bottle of significant size, add another 200.I know I'm very satisified with my 225. |
