the product lit suggests you can. Not knowing a whole lot about mig, are they suggesting you can push aluminum wire though the suitcase out a standard mig gun or is aluminum only ever possible via a push pull or spool gun?alsocan anyone share their experiences using a feeder on CC? A couple of ironworkers told me they would run flux core in CC and just switch the polarity. can anyone explain?thanks.

Reply:It is theoretically possible to run aluminum in a suitcase, BUT you need a very short length gun assembly, as the soft wire won't push well through a long liner, it tends to birdcage at the feed rollers. I have also run into problems welding aluminum after running steel through a Cobramatic (push-pull) from picking up contaminates left in the liner.

Reply:thanks guys. good info. I have CV on my trailblazer, so its no biggie, I was just wondering because I used to have an SA and might get another... also, I wondering if I could run it through my syncrowave when I dont want to piss off the neighbors by running the trailblazer.as for the aluminum, I was just reading the product literature and the wording was such that it could be interpreted as "throw a roll of aluminum in and start welding" which I didnt really think was the case but as I said before, I dont know a whole lot about this side of welding so I thought I would ask around.
Reply:I used to have a miller s32 sl wire feeder.  I ran a hobart tr250 for my power supply, and it worked great with hobart fabashield 21B  and worked even better with dual shield and co2.  Wire size was big though at 1/16  and .045.  Never tried solid wire as my feeder was limited to low feed speeds.  Best, Ralph
