Hi Guys,  We built a 65 mustang for my son over the last several years.  It was on the road for a year until he wrecked it.  We are making all the repairs. In this video we repaired the mangled up billet grille.  I have been working on my camera work and editing, so let me know what you think. Also, I have an eastwood Tig 200.  Seems to do fine on DC/Steel, but really struggle with Aluminum.  Anyone reccomend a good welder for Aluminum welding?  Btw, I use a 2% lanthinated tungsten and use 60% electrode positive.Checkout my youtube channel:  http://www.youtube.com/turbocobra
Reply:60% EP sounds like an awful lot. I understand even dirty aluminum should be around 30%. Too much will ball and vaporize the tungsten.
Reply:Ok, makes sense.  What is the idea EP for clean aluminum?  Zero?Checkout my youtube channel:  http://www.youtube.com/turbocobra
Reply:Nice job! Did you polish the whole thing for him?
Reply:Great man, loved it. Nice save. And the end cracked me up. Great work with the go pro. I need somebody like you to help me with editing with mine, I'm lost lol. Good job! I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:Aluminum should always be cleaned before welding with a clean stainless brush and acetone. EP should be around 15-20%. The cleaning zone should be just outside the weld area.Last edited by Labmaster02; 03-26-2015 at 07:45 PM.

Reply:Some machines rate the AC balance in percent of EP and some percent of EN. Just remember the more EN the less cleaning, but more penetration and the opposite for more EP.
