I've got a miller remote rheostat (7"x7"x7" metal box type) with a three wire cord and a twist-lock cord cap. Can I use this remote with a "Cables" style remote outlet on my sa 200? Of coarse I would have to put a 110V style cord cap on it but would it work?
Reply:I don't know, but I know how to find out. Download the RHC-3 (or whichever you have) manual from Miller http://www.millerwelds.com/service/ownersmanuals.phpand see if that wire wound rheostat in your specific Miller is the same. Here's a remote build thread with the spec for the Lincoln M5090C 64 ohm 150 watt rheostathttp://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?p=239979No reason if the rheostat is NOT the same you couldn't get the right one and install it in the nice Miller box. You could even leave it Miller colors to confuse bystanders. The Miller remotes are cheap and plentiful so it would be no loss to modify it.Don't throw away the old resistor. It fits many Millers.
