long router bit for aluminum?

I need to buy a straight cut router bit.  Cut width = 1/4". Cut length needs to be greater than 1.5".  Basically I am notching a gimbal in 1.5" aluminum tubing.  I can find longer bits for 3/8" diameter cuts, but not for 1/4" cuts.

Reply:Look into end mills instead of router bits. Reply:One thing is you may have to make multiple passes to do what you want to do. In that case, length of cutting surface won't matter as much as the overall length of the cutter. Simply reset your depth and make a 2nd, 3rd or however many passes it takes to get the job done..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
