I was hoping that some of you could help me out with this old welder that I had aquired by trade.Model: SA-250 D3.152Code: 890Serial: A-1022621I belive it to be a 1984 model year so that would give it aluminum guts correct? Also I've the power plugs are not working, Is the fuse a common problem with these? When we first got it it would not weld to we took it to a electric repair shop and they did some work on the exciter, and now she welds like a dream. When the electrical plugs went out I had a jobsite work light running and a small 110 air compressor. The fuse when pulled out is not broken, or do these 'slow blow' fuses act differently when they pop? Thanks for any input on this old girl. This winter when the dirt work slows up I'm planning to get it in our shop and paint it up. I'd like to aslo find a new faceplate for it as the one on it is pretty weathered. Thinking about a metallic blue or red for paint or maybe even a Cat Yellow and black paint job to get her looking as good as she welds.Last edited by RodBurner307; 08-13-2011 at 03:55 PM.

Reply:If fields haven't been replaced over time probably still aluminum. Armature has copper on it. Decal Shoppe has the face plates as well decals and are recommended by Lincoln and Miller. Check wire connections to the plug and voltage at the wires. May need only a new fuse holder and plug or have wires loose or broke off. http://www.decalshoppe.com/ |
