Hey guys, i know its not a welder... but im sure that most of us have and love our hilti guns... Today i was working with a TE 805 and the cooling fan assembly (#106) stripped out and is no longer spinning when you pull the trigger. My question is does anyone know how to safely stop the rotor (#7) from spinning when i turn the cooling fan nut (#67) so i can just swap the fan assembly without pulling the rotor?Miller Dynasty 300 DXMiller CST280Miller Maxstar 150 STH
Reply:first thing I'd try is an impact tool, of course turn it down at first. the impact action may allow you to get it off without having to hold anything.miller 330a bp TIGmiller dynasty 200DX TIGmillermatic 185 MIGthermal dynamics cutmaster 101 plasma cuttersnap-on YA5550 plasma cutterhypertherm powermax 30 plasma cutterbaileigh CS225 cold sawetc....
Reply:Silveradoturbocad6's impact-tool suggestion has worked for me.Repetitive short bursts from still; and only after, you are positive the threads are not left-handed.Opus
