Just wrapped up refreshing an old trailer my uncle built about 50 years ago.  Added extra taillights (the others were hard to see), some supports for vertical visibility poles (I couldn't see/feel the trailer behind my 3/4 ton truck), added a spare tire carrier to the front, put new tires on it, sealed the floorboards and put a fresh coat of enamel paint on it.The white PVC is used to put a tarp over during storage.  The bent pieces come off while the trailer is in use. It helps keep the leaves and other debris out as well as protecting the floorboards some.  They are the original floorboards and are starting to look pretty rough.Just thought I would share.Later,Wic Attached ImagesLast edited by wicrules; 04-15-2015 at 08:08 PM.

Reply:Somebody put some work into building that trailer. Some unique items designed into it. Sweet little outfit."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt

Reply:Thanks guys for the comments.  My uncle welded for NASA for most of his career, even working the barges that carried the Saturn rockets between Alabama and Florida.  He built custom trailers out of his shop in Alabama until about 15 years ago.  This particular trailer has travelled the states and hauled all kinds of stuff.  Those bars around the bottom are nice for tying things down.
Reply:I also like the pipes, and the tailgate latches. He put a lot of though into that trailer.Yeah, I know, but it'll be ok!Lincoln Square wave 255Miller Vintage mig30a spoolgunThermal Dynamics Pacmaster 100xl plasmaSmith mc torchEllis 1600 band saw
Reply:NICE!! those bars on the bottom are trick...I bet there gona be alot of copying that idea.....Of all the things I lost I miss my mind the most...I know just enough about everything to be dangerous......You cant cure stupid..only kill it...
Reply:Yeah, he always did top-notch work in my opinion.  I was on a trip with him one time and there was a car hauler in the parking lot at the travel stop we were getting gas at.  He was like "that looks familiar" and walked over to the trailer.  His initials were welded into the bumper.  What are the chances of that happening?
Reply:Does that rear spring shackle pivot? Can't quite tell from pic.
Reply:No, it doesn't.  It is a strange setup.  He used a double eye spring but it works like a slip spring.  I've had the thing sitting on the stops from a load and the spring just slips back between two bolts in the hanger.
