I recently inherited a bunch of welding material from my father including a 2005 Miller Bobcat 250 with a Kholer engine. This thing is literally brand new with less than 60 hours (I believe). I was wondering in what ballpark should I be able to swing selling this machine for? $3,500? I saw a few ads on craigslist and I'm trying to find a few comps:http://santafe.craigslist.org/tls/3041161975.htmlhttp://palmsprings.craigslist.org/tls/3040987424.htmlhttp://parkersburg.craigslist.org/tls/2995451009.htmlhttp://milwaukee.craigslist.org/tls/2946227906.htmlI dont see being to far off, and like everyone says.... My machine is in a hell of a lot better shape then all of these. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,-Ben.
Reply:For a 7 year old machine I would think 2000 to 2500. You can buy the same machine new for 3500. You can get a little more if you include any leads or other equipment with it. Just my 2 cents worth
Reply:Aside from prices varying from region to region, the reality is your $3500 suggested asking price is more than one could purchase the unit new at a dealer in '05 and not too far off from a new one today that would come with a 3yr warranty. I'd say you're at the very least $1000 too high.Unfortunately, just because a unit has less than 60hrs use and looks new doesn't automatically mean it's worth as much as a new one to anyone other than the owner. But that's not to say you can't get the $3500 you're suggesting if a potential buyer looks only at current List prices.Good luck.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Yeah, I figured I would throw in the leads. It also sits in a steel chassis with castors for ease of moving around the garage. Really only $2,500? Why are all the rest of these ads so highly priced with a lot of hours? I believe he paid in the range of $4,000+ for it new, I dont understand how one today would be that much cheaper.
Reply:List price for a 2012 model is only $4627.00 with the 3yr warranty and just because the ads list the higher prices doesn't mean the owners will get it.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:List it at your $3500 and include OBO and see what happens.I know of people that have paid more for used stuff at auctions than they can go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy it for new because they don't bother to do their homework or are just impulse buyers or both.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:Alright, thanks for the info guys. I appreciate it. I'm going to try at $2,800 and see if I dont let it go around $2,600.
Reply:Gee,New machine with three year warranty and "shipped to your door" would be worth a lot more than $1000 to me.People can ASK anything they want. What they get is another story.Regardless of the "hours", I'd say $2,500 is on the high side for a 7 year old welder. Frankly, 60 hours on an old gas engine would scare me a bit.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc. |
