So I paint ball and use CO2 I was wondering if I can use one of my CO2 bottles as a gas for my MIG welderSent from my SPH-L520 using Tapatalk
Reply:Yes...
Reply:CO2 is CO2, if that's your question.
Reply:mig wand that takes a Daisy co2 cartridge came to mind
Reply:Hobart makes a co2 kit for mig welders that uses paint ball cylinders. Kind of a nifty little setup for portability.
Reply:Okay so here is to kind of clarify I don't have the MIG gun with the CO2 setup or regulator. I have a quick disconnect for a paintball gun which has emerged so I can open the valve I can open it just a little bit, would that work if I hold it over the weld ?Sent from my SPH-L520 using Tapatalk

Reply:It's the Forney 299 EZ weld I can run solid wire and flux coreSent from my SPH-L520 using Tapatalk
Reply:Just binging and googling I don't find any thing close to a Forney 299 EZ that isn't flux core only."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:If it helps any I bought it off Amazon for $150Sent from my SPH-L520 using Tapatalk

Reply:You would really need some sort of a regulator to control the flow of CO2. You would also need a gas solenoid valve in the welder. I don't see any other way to do it that would give proper shielding gas coverage. JMHO, however.Miller Millermatic 252Miller Syncrowave 200Liincoln AC-DC 225Victor O-A Set

Reply:Originally Posted by FCAWBOB702Okay if the welder does not come with a solenoid is it possible to put an aftermarket solenoid on it so to speak? Because I love flux core welding I'm pretty damn good at it but I want to go out with shielding gas and then I need to get a TIG machines unless I can reverse the polarity of my torch in clampSent from my SPH-L520 using Tapatalk
Reply:Understandable any ideas on where to get a decent TIG machine for someone one a budget? Sent from my SPH-L520 using Tapatalk
Reply:Craigslist. Usually "budget" tig machines are older industrial tigs. They are big, heavy, and want a lot of electrical power, but they are available semi regularly below $500. I've seen some really nice rebranded 330 Millers for as low as $150-250. Lincoln Idealarc tigs, and Miller Dialarc HF's are other good possibilities that pop up regularly in the sub $700 range. No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Yes you can use "splatball" CO2  cylinders to mig with. you can get ~25' of bead with one of the 16oz bottles. Miller Passports actually are setup that way, no external bottle even needed, just plug it in and run off the internal bottle.Sent from my SCH-I605 using TapatalkRyanMiller Multimatic 200 tig/spool gun/wireless remoteMillermatic 350P, Bernard/XR Python gunsMiller Dynasty 350, Coolmate 3.5 & wireless remoteCK WF1 TIG wire feederMiller Spectrum 375 XtremeOptrel e684Miller Digital EliteMiller Weld-Mask
Reply:The Miller Passport Plus uses paintball cylinders or can be hooked up to full size cylinders. I bought several paintball cylinders from a paintball place for what Miller wanted for the same cylinder.  Less than $20 each filled and ready to go. Airgas could not fill the paintball cylinders as they had nothing to weight the cylinders as they filled them. The paintball place filled them for less than $5 each as I remember.

Reply:You could run the hose under a makeshift pedal to pinch the hose shut or use some sort of twist valve like on some tig rigs.
Reply:Makes sense I have a remote line from my paintball gun with a purge valve. It actually works quite well. Sent from my SPH-L520 using Tapatalk
