When I try to weld at some odd angles the wire gets jammed up inside the handle,(when I'm using .035 wire) anyone else have this problem. welder is all most brand new, maybe 30 hours or less on it. The handle does not look like it can be easily taken apart. Any suggestions ??
Reply:Try not to bent the line very sharply, being a small line they can be finicky with tight loops. If you've kinked the inner liner, you'll want to get a new one. They are pretty cheap.Hope it helpsBuy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:It actually doesn't take much of an angle to stop the wire. For example just trying to weld a fillet laying flat on my welding table will stop the wire. I am OCD about taking care of my equipment, and I'm pretty sure the line isn't kinked anywhere. I always try to keep the line as straight as possible, but that is unrealistic. Maybe I just need to invest in a heavier duty line/handle...
Reply:My Hobart 187 had a similar problem. And then I switched from Hobart solid steel wire to FCAW, and the problem disppered overnight. I think it was the wire. Ive never had a problem with hobart wire before, but who knows? Maybe you should try another tip, just in case.[Account Abandoned 8/8/16 Please Do Not Attempt Contact Or Expect A Reply]. Reply:If the liner gets bent just once, enough to damage it, you're done. The wire will hang up and the machine will be unreliable. If the other suggestions here don't work, just buy a new liner.Lincoln Pro Mig 180Everlast PowerARC 200
Reply:Along with making sure you liner is not bent, make sure it is the right size. 035 wire will fit through 030 liner but it will not feed smooth. So you want to make sure the liner in you gun is a 035 -045 liner. These will feed best.
Reply:Thank you for the feedback guys, ccawgc, I will check into that, I didn't even think that the liner may not have enough tolerance.
Reply:Gently push the liner back and read the stamping on the brass end. From that we can figure out what liner is in the gun.
