I put the little cutter to the test tonight....1/2" AR500. I made three 4' long cuts with it through the stuff after I ran out of acetylene for my torch. I didn't know how it would handle it, but as long as the tip was good and the metal half way clean, it made a pretty decent cut. Speed was probably 6-7 IPM and I burned up two tips. I'm helping a friend cut out silouette targets for a shooting club and we were just hacking up the 4x8 sheet in to more manageable pieces. The detail work on the pig targets will be done at school where we have a much more capable plasma. More and more impressed with this machine every time I use it.
Reply:Why did it burn up two tips? I would expect the tip (nozzle) to last for maybe 10 x the distance you cut with yours......at least the Powermax30 parts do.
