*I have a Lincoln classic 1 and their is a knocking noise coming from the front nose cone it is there sometimes and other times it goes away when I remOve the cover while machine is running you can se the armature shaft vibrating Please help could it just be a bent shaft or am I looking at something more serious
Reply:May have bad bearings and the armature may be hitting the stator. Will have to disassemble and replace bearings. Very big job. You can get a bore scope and flash light. Look at the armature and stator and see it there are any marks in side where they have hit. You should not be able to move the shaft. so you don't break any thing if you can't figure out how to disassemble come back here and ask. May have to start a new thread on how to take it apart.
Reply:Any tips on taking it apart would be awesome I would like to do it myself to save some coin but am wondering if it might be worth taking it to a shop
Reply:I got it changed and ya the bearing was the problem took about 10 hours to change I found it pretty easy to do thanks for all the help
