Fair price for Ideal arc dc 250

I was thinking this is high considering lincoln dose not make parts for it any more. As Im not one of these open the box and rip out her guts and fix her kinda guys the fact that for a a couple hundreded more I can get some thing with a warranty, HF start, plus I think most newer models works on less amps, will tig aluminum, not to mention all the other bells and whistles like a torch and pedal speaks to me. On the other hand I get lincoln quality. The machine I am looking at was off a military base some place so I know it was used and abused as only the military can use and abuse some thing. Now the fella may be good enought to come down some. but I shot him a number of around $300 and I thought that was fair considering I could pick up a snap on on a cart that can do the same work for 150$. Catch 22 with the snap on is who made the thing if its a re brand from one of the better companies great but I wouldnt have a clue how to check on that. I have never been a big fan of paying for a badge or a stamp but as I am hearing with welders if its 10% to 25% over the cost of others its worth it.
