Reply:too bad im not in new York right now or I could swing by. I frequent there once a year in manhattan to see family. I even have a buddy right now that is running cameras through the sewer lines right now in Nassau county. CES is the name of the company. You might see their BOX truck riding around or at a manway pushing the cameras through. Over the internet private lesson: Turn machine on, prep your work, get a scrap piece of iron and practice your beads. Take a flat piece of plate about 8" long x 6" wide or so and with a 6010 electrode start doing "whipping" motions back and forth into your puddle. At first you will have trouble with the rod sticking to the workpiece, but after you figure out how to keep the rod burning (Think of the electrode as a matchstick! best advice this ole timer gave me) just practice running bead after bead and stacking them side by side. theres a lot that goes into it. (PRACTICE) my first time welding the welder thew me some scrap and said watch me then go at it until you got it. I didn't have the machine set or anything. It is all trial and error. try your machine on 95 AMPS with a 3/32 6010 or 7018 electrode. If you practice with 7018 remember it is a DRAG rod. Strike an arc, let the puddle flatten out and drag it in the direction you want to weld in.
Reply:Thank You Very much,I will take that advice to heart, anytime you are around, don'thesitate to call. Raf |
