First off, it looks awfully small, and you can push it around on the table very easily with one hand.  My HH135 weighs more. The menu thingy is just plain goofy.  Too much firmware/software(?) for my liking.  It screams TROUBLE somewhere down the line.  I cannot imagine what it would cost to fix it.  Heat, dust, power spikes..............dunno.Inverters...........I don't like them.  Maybe I'm behind the curve, and too old fashioned, but I don't trust them for the long haul. All in all, it just screams CHEAP, but with a hefty price tag.I asked if something like this would work for me, just out of curiosity.  Been dealing with these guys for 20yrs, and I get straight answers I believe.  He flat out said it's really for hobby type use.  Which is ok.  But I'm thinking this would be a transitory machine, something on the way to getting something better for the job.My impressions are really pretty quick, and not fully informed (didn't even try to weld with it), but something deep down makes me feel that purchasing dedicated machines would give more satisfaction in the long run.For what it's worth.  You didn't have to pay for the opinion"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Did these strait up guys tell you that your HH135 was an industrial machine?I went from a HH135 to the 210mp--  I don't know the answers to your questions about durability of the firmware/sortware, but I know it is a great welder on mig and stick.  Stick with the 135 if you wish.
Reply:Samm, you need to try this machine.Your judging the book by only reading the cover.....Its a welbuilt unit, just like your new holland round baler, with all its electronics.Just a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Reply:i ordered mine last week or so... the gentleman at praxair said that there are lots ordered and lincoln is taking a long time to send them out!it seems like a good welder for the price since there is no step above, directly, what i mean by that is that there is no larger welder called the 225 MP or the 250 MP that would cost $1500 upwards to $2000.

Reply:true, look at the tweco fabricator series...
Reply:Sam trade that Plasma in on a older transformer model. Then get back to me on how you like lugging it around, and cut quality. The 141i Tweco blows the HH-135-140 machines out of the water in Quality of the arc,Power,.Weight.It does every single thing better, and also stick, and tig welds nice.. I will bring it this year if you show up....I am waiting for a deal on a Multimatic200.. My LWS blows stuff out when it sits too long.. The 181, and now the Lincoln 210 has caused the Miller machines to sit in the store,. If I can get it for around what the Lincoln cost, I will go that way.. Have a feeling, I might not really care for the Lincoln arc.. (One because I had a C-300, which Sam also used) Great machine though.,Last edited by Brand X; 03-31-2015 at 04:30 PM.Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i
Reply:I have a MP210 and love it. As far as durability I don't know. I'm sure it won't hold up like a 350 lb Idealarc 250. But it has a 3 year warranty and for another $99 it goes to 5. Reply:I've pretty much decided that I will be making a 210MP my first welder.  Was going to be a Miller 211 but this is the same price, and I can learn all the basics of Mig, Tig, and Stick. (Basics) Down the road I will pic up the Miller 212, and likely a Lincoln precision 225 or a Dynasty 200 etc.   Then, I'll have a mobile solution for little stuff (Lincoln 210), and larger machines for the bigger or more specialized stuff.  Hard decision for me though as I am dubious of the Multiprocess machines, always seems like they are going to be a compromise and only be average at a lot of things...Not really good at any one thing.   But I've been assured by the folks at my LWS that they are good machines and will be perfect for someone just starting out to learn on, funky controls or not.
Reply:Agree, good first machine.   If you get a bigger MIG, you will want a 250 amp or larger machineTiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:Many multiprocess machine are a Superior Mig/Stick machines, and has a DC tig arc as nice as a stand alone tig unit. They fall down some in the areas like Lift-arc only, compared to high freq start options/ gas management. Not always there either. with other options for arc starting/gas/water flow)Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i
