I recently inherited a Miller 250 Amp Dialarc Tig/Stick welder with HF. Has anyone had any experience with one of these before?
Reply:I have a miller DialarcHF, been using it for the last 14 years, never let me down. I use it for TIG only, I've never used it in stick mode so I can't comment on that part of it.
Reply:I have never used a TIG but I have O/A welded before. I didn't know exactly how old these units are. It used to be my grandpas. I will probably never use it for stick either.MM135 on 75%-25%Miller Dialarc 250AMP AC/DC TIGSpectrum 375 Victor torchesOptrel Satelite

Reply:i have one i use it for tig and sticki have never had any trouble with it ken
Reply:I work in a shop with one of these machines and have used it with AC TIG, DC TIG, and stick over the past five or six yearswith veery good results.
Reply:It is a good solid machine decent TIG for a sine wave machine. If it has the Hi Freq start you are in golden (some models didn't). It runs 7018 rod better than the 6010-6011's. But is a good stick machine.Ron ShopFloorTalk Millermatic 350P, M-25, M-40 gunsDynasty 300DX, Coolmate 3, Crafter CS-310 TorchTrailblazer 302, 12RC, WC-2430A spoolgunSpectrum 2050Thermal Arc Plasma Welder PS-3000/WC-100B
Reply:i run a strandard dial arc almpost every day it runs 7018 real nice and 6010 good too, the older ones are better by the way for some reason they have a higher duty cycle then the new ones no clue why but they do andi also prefer the the plugs over the studs l,ke the new ones but thats just me, i assume if it is set for tig you have the footcontrol if not get it , it easy to install, i also like use the remote dial which i lay next to what ever im welding esp if im welding out front of the shop so i dont always have to go inside, or sometimes im really lazy and set up the xmt for 6010 and the dial arc for 7018, ive also carbon arc gouged with it upto 3/16 carbons, i use the ac carbons on dc+they dont need to be run as hot and give better duty cycle and less carbon intrapment if your not burnin as hot, ive also given up up the dial and just put white out marks where my commom rods run good, oh yeah keep dust away from the back the fans on these are monsters and suck anything in

Reply:You will have no problems with this machine. I have use a dialarc all my welding life (since 1985-86) along with other machines. They are built like a tank and are a good all around shop machine. Trouble-free in the dictionary has a picture of a dialarc next to it.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:I've got an old Dialarc HF-P, works like a charm. I've used it for arc welding but prefer my other welder for that most of the time. The miller website has manuals you can download for your exact machine
