I was wondering if anyone had built a "remote amperage adjustment" for a miller syncrowave 180 sd? I crawl under something and get all comfortable it takes me forever to crawl out to adjust.
Reply:That should take the standard Miller 14 pin pedal/hand controllers. The newer 14 pin wireless pedal would also work I believe. At least the Syncrowave 180 I used years ago used the same 14 pin pedal as my Syncrowave 200 or 250 does. If you wanted some sort of dial style controller, it shouldn't be too hard to build something. Steve, (7A749), can probably tell you what pot and pin connector you'd need to look for..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Just about any Miller or aftermarket hand control with a 14 pin connector and 1K pot will work fine. Premium models generally come with the addition of a switch to turn the contactor on and off. My Profax remote does.I believe the Miller name for theirs is RHC 14. I gotta run, I'll look later or maybe someone else will have the info more readily available.Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
Reply:would anyone have the numbers for the miller 14 pin plug and even an aftermarket plug? I guess I'm goin to try and build a remote. shouldn't be too hard?
Reply:Are you welding stick or TIG?If stick, then the RHC-14 Steve mentioned would be recommended but if TIG then the RCCS-14 strapped to your TIG torch would be the way to go.I tinker with and build stuff all the time but if you're welding stick, I'd suggest just finding a RHC-14 on Craigslist or eBay and be done with it.I run a RFCS-14 foot pedal for TIG and have the RHC-14 if I should choose to use it with my 180 SD.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Exactly Duane. I think I paid like $50 for my Profax remote new on eBay.SSC controls makes a nice one for reasonable. Cheaper than you can make one. At least unless you already have all the stuff. I do, and I would still buy one before making my own.IMHO of courseExpert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
