Sa250 armature loose

Hey yall! I recently acquired another sa250 I was able to bring back to life. Problem is she is shaking like the eddie money song. I narrowed it down to the armature shaft. The brush bracket has been rubbing against the rings(I doubt right terminology)the brushes sit on. I have an 89 sa250 and it's nice and tight and runs smooth. Whereas this one I'm able to pull the armature out a few millimeters. It definitely doesnt look like its snugged up compared to my other machine. How do I keep the armature shaft from spinning so i can snug up the big nut? There is a hole that looks like it's for a gear puller. I apologize in advance if my terminology is wrong. I would greatly appreciate any of yalls advice who have been through these machines. I'm tempted to replace the rings the brushes sit on because it looks like this has been going on for some time now and made a groove in the front brush ring. Reply:Thanks Duane for your quick reply. I guess what I'm trying to ask is how do I remove the nut without the shaft spinning. Should I just hit it with an impact? I'm probably overthinking it.
