Last night at welding class, I had a conversation with my welding instructor about whats next in the course. He said, if I want to do next semester with him, then its what he refers to as pipe & plate. This first semester has 3 more classes, and weve done stick for 5 weeks, MIG for 5 weeks, and are now on TIG until the end of the course, and if things go well, maybe TIG some aluminum on the last session.Im thinking seriously about taking another semester, and getting a couple of certs. Since I already have all my safety equipment, then I can save around $300. Seems the consruction industry and manufacturing sectors of our local economy value certs. I still want to do a side hustle when I retire, but a couple of certs couldnt hurt, and might could get me some side work perhaps? Maybe smaller jobs that the bigger outfits dont have time for? Reply:Pipe and plate sounds good. That is really where the rubber hits the road so to speak. Mig for small and shops and sticks for out in the wild.www.urkafarms.com
