Hello my fellow welders,I run a small LLC welding business on the side and have been welding/fabricating for 7 years now with being a tig welder the last 3. I am looking for a tig welder for my small shop and leaning towards Lincoln Square Wave 200 but is it really worth the $2400? Another I wanted to ask about is Everlast 200dv better features and AC/DC but my only hesitation is if it craps out and I have heard about horrendous customer support. No use in a 5 year warranty if they don't actually follow through with it.Third option is go that Prime Weld 225. I don't have the cash for a nicer $3500 tig machine so am considering cheaper non name brand options and have never used these off brands before. Help needed fam! Welders will see use at least a couple times a week for a couple to few hours each use so would be considered light fabrication/light industrial use so I need something to work and last.Last edited by IronRoya1; 2 Weeks Ago at 01:27 PM.
Reply:I would go with the primeweld. The Lincoln is limited on amps and pulse( if needed). The Neverlast is like mentioned a gamble as far as warranty goes, and also limited on amps.
Reply:I have heard about Prime Weld customer service actually being good otherwise have never used it or know anything about it. As long as it works and lasts I really am fine with going off brand
Reply:When I bought my primeweld I also considered the AHP. Surprisingly when I talked to primeweld they didn't bash the competition, they just explained their own strong points. Not only that but primeweld includes very good accessories and a CK flexhead torch. The current models also have the provision to connect a coolers electrical directly to the welder.
Reply:Personally if I was making money with it (especially if it is a full time gig), and I wanted to weld aluminum. I wouldn't go for the Lincoln Squarewave 200, any of the Everlast machines, nor any of the other budget machines such as Primeweld, AHP, Yeswelder, etc. I would stick to something like an HTP, Lincoln Aspect, Miller Dynasty, Lorch, or a Fronious. If all of my welding was ferrous metals, I think any old welder would do, and I would stick with something like my Multimatic 255. Just my 2 cents.Miller Multimatic 255
