Cross-posting a bit from the Hobart weld talk forumHi everybody! It's been a while since I posted here. Last time I posted, I was re-doing my Lincoln DC-180. (mixed results, still working on it.... very slowly)Now, I have a new-to-me engine drive from Hobart, model GP-258.Came with the owners manual, thank goodness. But there's some more info I'm looking for.Specifically, the wiring schematic, and what year or range of years was this made?Does anyone know where I can find those, especially the wiring schematic? Here's what I've got so far:Generator: 250A, 40V, 60% duty cycleModel GP-258Serial 5CW-32354Specs 1819Type 805819Previous owner said it runs and welds, but it does need some work (rough, missing a few parts...)And indeed it does run and weld. I intend to use it at my day job (class 8 / heavy equipment mech) and also for side jobs.Willys L-134 engine, mostly complete. No idler system, missing air cleaner. I have a K&N filter that will fit. Thanks in advance! I hope to document everything here for future reference.Use a bigger hammer.
Reply:They have a webpage for literature, but I didn't see anything for that welder. Maybe you can call them to get what you need.https://www.hobartwelders.com/support/manuals-and-partsHere's a schematic for a G-261 that I found (might be similar to yours) -
