Built this table in the shop a few months ago and figured some of you might like to see it. Didn't cost much and is extremely convenient for building larger projects. Table is 42" across and 16' long, would have made it longer if it would have fit. Having the spaces in between the beams is quite nice, I've made expanded metal inserts to allow me to put clamps and such in there below the working surface of the table so they don't get in the way.

Reply:Very cool!
Reply:It's definitely been useful. By the way, the bottom picture is of a planter we made, attached on accident and can't figure out how to take it off. I started another thread about it.
Reply:My current issue is figuring out a good way to store drop offs between 2 and four feet long.  I haven't searched here yet but there has to be some Good System.   I suppose I could build a shorter rack.
Reply:One of the coolest things I have seen on this site and never thought of is attaching tools like a vise onto a receiver and then having tubes on the bench to slide them into.  Hell that's a great idea.   I still have to take time out to put one on my table
Reply:Now that is a nice table. I would like to here the process you used to keep it flat while building.

Yeah, I know, but it'll be ok!

Reply:Sounds good! If you use it much it will get tweaked anyway.

Reply:What a great idea. Nice build.
Reply:Great table for large stuff!  I like the wire mesh inserts...that is a great trick from the woodworking world (woodworking benches have a built-in tray like that...lets you keep tools handy, but not in the way.  Well done.KevKevin / Machine_Punk from The Aerodrome Studio - Lincoln PowerMIG 210 MP - Meco N Midget w/custom welding station - Vintage Victor 100Current Projects: The Aerodrome Studio
Reply:That is a massive table. And as stated, I love the inset storage. Nice work!I’m just happy to be here!
Reply:Gets the job done, nice table !
Reply:The inset storage was actually a bonus that I hadn't thought of when the table was originally built but something I've found very useful. I've been thinking about bending up some sheetmetal boxes with expanded metal bottoms to hang in the openings so I'll have deeper storage as well.
Reply:Very nice! Perfect for that job that you're building on it....Rich
