I bought a generic very cheap "Stanwell" brand Cut-40 plasma cutter a couple weeks ago online. It suddenly died the second time I used it. Three day warranty where I bought it

I opened it up and wow,  there was just two conductors, no ground! The case was not bonded to  anything. I thought it may at least have neutral tied to ground, but no. Hot and  neutral go direct to the power supply section of the main board. The  boards inside did not have the usual ground plane trace that ties to the  case through mounting screws. This is scary, 240v unit.So I sent it to a local tech, who said the board is bad. Yeah I knew that. He did tell something interesting, inverter units die from input power issues- sudden spikes, dropouts, and under voltage. Extension cords can easily cause it, other welders lighting up at the same time, compressors starting, etc. The skimpy rectifier bridge often fails.Lesson I learned is verify that the unit is at least properly grounded, and plenty of cable for the load. Oh, also buy your cheap stuff from a seller with longer warranty like Amazon.

Reply:I am not sure I understand, 240 and neutral on a board?  It come with a 4 wire cord?www.urkafarms.com
