Hello, We are doing a project where we need to weld 25micrometer plates, these are small stainless steel plates 6 in numbers and we currently did spot resistance welding which is not a 100% efficient since the material melts sometimes and sticks to the electrode. What is the best material to use if using apot welding or what other options works best to stick these metal plates together.
Reply:If you can give more details including dimensions of all parts [perhaps the engineering drawings], the grade of stainless, the surface finish requirements, maybe the use when finished...then members here might have a chance to give some good suggestions. Hard to do so when so little is known.By "25micrometer plates", do you mean 25 micrometers thick (0.ooo98") or are these parts for a micrometer stage of a microscope, or other instrument? What are they to be welded to? Are you doing the welding or sending them out for the work? Are the electrodes made of copper? Could you use something like tungsten-capped electrodes instead? What diameter spots?.Last edited by Oldiron2; 1 Hour Ago at 01:54 AM. |
