I'm designing a project in which i am required to pass from sanitary tubing to an to ANSI system. i was foundering since sanitary tubing is quite thin if what i am suggesting could be welded.here is the info:I would want to weld a 3" sanitary tube into a welding neck flange of 3" and would want to weld it like a slip on flange.an ansi 150 welding neck flange wil have a 3.07" ID and the sanitary tube has an OD of 3" this leaves a .035" gap all around.sanitary tube thickness of .065"is that a to big gap to weld for such a thin tubing?thanks in advanceLast edited by bobfrit; 8 Hours Ago at 06:59 PM.

Reply:what do you mean by welder upper?
Reply:Weld it .035 is nothing, concentrate your heat on the flange to prevent blowing holes in the tube. If you have access to a lathe you could use a blind flange and machine the hole to fit the tube OD.Last edited by CAVEMANN; 8 Hours Ago at 07:47 PM.NRA LIFE MEMBERUNITWELD 175 AMP 3 IN1 DCMIDSTATES 300 AMP AC MACHINEGOD HELP AMERICA!"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” BENJAMIN FRANKLIN
