My venerable old Century 250 amp AC/DC had an unfortunate fall earlier this week. I removed the cover to inspect for damage, and noticed the slide inside the windings of the transformer is cracked and catching on something. It is riveted onto a little frame. I plan to drill the rivets out and remove it to inspect it further, and if the damage is minor to just use some model glue to repair it (it seems to be made of plastic). Is there anyone familiar with these machines that can advise me on repairing it before I do anything foolhardy?
