The only thing that’s holding me back on a Primeweld Tig225X is that it is HF start only, no lift start. I don’t know If I’ll ever want/need to weld to a car or truck but you can’t do that with high frequency, right? Won’t it potentially damage the car’s ECU and other electronics or is disconnecting the battery good enough? If not, is there another machine in the price range of the Primeweld that will do hf and lift that would be a better option? Thanks!
Reply:I am mainly replying to sub to this thread, but.... I don't know much tig beyond some scratch start I've played around with but, how much tig do people actually do ON a vehicle?  The only stuff I have done on a vehicle has been stuff that tig would be less suited for than mig or even stick.  I have concerns about HF too, but it is more in relation to sensitive electronics in the shop than on vehicles.  So, I will be watching for more educated responses to you question as well!
