Finished this up on Sunday. Trash project from scrap. Uprights were salvaged from old treadmill and rails were the center bar from the garage door rebuild. Center bar is T-channel and very high carbon. The tacks kept cracking after cooling. Welding was tricky due to 0.1” thickness so I could not linger. 6013 3/32” rod around 90 A with many button welds to build a web.
Here it is prior to paint and caps. Pretty stable on concrete. Carpet less so.
Needed close outs for the ends. Opted to make from scrap treated lumber. Dato milled to fit flush inside the tubes. I’m a little disappointed with these but they fit well without binding.
