Got this broken Trek session downhill bike for free and tried to fix it.It was fully snapped on chainstays weld seams. I sanded paint off and cleaned everything, after that i welded seams around that snapped part. Then i added those 6061 reinforcement flat bars around the frame and layed strong seams around them with 5356 rod.Next it was time to anneal it to softer temper. I did it carefully with torch method because i don't own oven that heats to ~800°FAfter that i heat treated it in oven to 6061 t5 / t6 temper (~330°F 6h)Result was really strong frame that has holded up great!Don't try at home unless you know what you are doing. Without correct heat treatment welds will crack again and this is can be dangerous.
