Hello all,Just published a youtube video on some quick and dirty measurements techniques you can use when fabricating radiuses and concentric rings.ThanksJoe
Reply:Good info many can probably use. One thing that you didn't mention on setting up the pieces on the fire pit rings. Many times when doing two rings one above each other like this is that it's tough not to "spiral" the vertical braces. I usually mark out the brace locations on the original inner diameter, and draw lines from the center point out thru those points and extend them to the drawn outer ring. If your rings are level, you can then plumb up from your layout and find where they need to be on the upper ring. My one fab table is level, so I just drop down a plumb bob to locate my points. Using your method with the square, you'd need a 2nd square to square in two directions at the same time. Your method of doing the demo on video works very well and is probably a lot clearer than my typing out an explanation. Good job..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:Thanks DSW,  I really like your idea of using the plumb bob and extending the lines to the upper ring.  I am in the process of tack welding the braces, I will use your method.Joe
