I finally dropped the hammer & bought a Ram ecodiesel, I've been looking and evaluating for a long time & finally bit the bullet. I picked up a 2017 ecodiesel, very low miles(14,343) for a decent price. Dono why they posted upside down, they are upright on my computer.

Reply:It has an open recall for the egr cooler, no fix available as yet, recall was posted early December, I don't know why there is no solution, bulletproof diesel has been building bullet proof egr coolers since the 6 liter powerstroke/international, just about every diesel truck that has an egr cooler has issues with them, it's about $900 for a new bulletproof one, they should just partner up and fix the problem, cheaper than an engine. Rob, I had an 11 GMC Duramax and absolutely loved it, unfortunately that was the first year for the DEF system from GM, and they were a problem child, I got rid of it because I had a minor issue twice, and the fuel mileage wasn't what I had hoped, so far I'm getting over 22 mpg in mixed driving from the RAM. The truck is loaded with equipment, the fit and interior quality looks to be much better than any of the GM products I've owned., I still have to go to INYATI for a spray in bedliner and find a camper shell, I hate what truck beds have become, I have 2 good sized totes that carry a quality bottle jack, lug wrench jumper cables some tools, spare oil & coolant. I found the ONLY hydraulic jack company left in the US and bought from them, the jack was about $180 bucks IIRC.oH YEAH, THANKS FOR FLIPPING THE PICTURES!!!! My work truck is a gasser, I don't enjoy driving it. Wife's car is a gasser, don't really enjoy driving that either. I miss her old Mercedes 300D Turbodiesel that we bought 10 years old with 94K on it and drove for 21 more years. Cheapest car we ever owned too when you do the math. Now one thing I don't like is all the EPA mandated emissions on the new diesels, but I do feel it is needed and I won't be one to delete/defeat any of it, my kids and grandkids are growing up into what we are leaving them, can't ignore that. I just wish technology would reach a point where we could have clean running diesels without DPF filters and the like. I am afraid for the future of diesel.
