I'm tired of paying $7/lb at local places for regular Grade 5 bolts/nuts/washers.   So I started looking online and I really like the pricing at https://www.wholesalebolts.com.  Anyone found any cheaper online source?

Reply:I usually go through a local outfit called " Packer fasteners", since they are generally the cheapest. I have bought some assortment sets of Allen head, metric and grade 5 from " River City fasteners", thru the eBay store.

Reply:Maybe not even close to cheap, but when I need something exotic, precise or exact and traceable McMaster. Sometimes Fastenal. Ace hardware in my area usually has the basics. I hate buying offshore fasteners.Seven dollars per pound doesn't sound unreasonable. I live out west here in California, so everything is expensive...Miller Dynasty 350Miller XMT 304

Reply:That's weird.... i wonder where they hide it in the local store??? I've only been in there about 5 times since they opened last year so probably just overlooked the aisle with nut n bolts

we have several hi strength, tacoma screw, grainger, fastenal, etc... within 30 minutes of our normal work area so depending on what I need i go to one of those... I'll get bolts at HD/lowes/ace as a last resort as they have the cheapest junk there is

we also have a mclendons hardware that has a great selection of good names like brighton best/etc... here too.

The local Fastenal had them in stock but the guy at the counter would not sell just four. I needed to buy the whole bag of 20 for $25. The lady next to him is someone I deal with pretty regularly. She reaches over and typed in a few things and brought the price for the bag down to $12.50.

But no cash sales/credit. Only for accounts.Sent from my SM-G970W using Tapatalk

Reply:We have a farm supply chain around here called GEBOS - they sell by the pound a few cents cheaper than TSC, but for common sizes up to 1", it's the best deal for a walk in place I've found.

Reply:On ebay, these are my two go-to sources.http://www.ebaystores.com/lightningstainlessboltincI like these guys because I can get square-head and unplated fasteners.  Of course, you'd better be ready to buy real bulk!  I've never looked at the numbers too closely because I like the convenience of having stuff delivered right to the house and figure that's worth paying a bit for since it means I don't have to burn time and gas driving around town to pick the stuff up at a store.   $32 for 275 1/4-20x1-1/2" Grade 8 Yellow Zinc-plated bolts seems pretty fair if you're going through that many in a year.https://www.ebay.com/str/Lexar-Indus...orecat=7672279
Reply:I use Tractor Supply for everday stuff.  Fastenal is way too high, if I need special items I go to a bolt supply.
Reply:M J D the fastenal in antigo is the only fastenal store in Wisconsin that sells cash at the door I hope they keep doing that Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk
Reply:The one nearby in Hudson WI sold me some bolts a couple months back cash/walk-in (well call-in - they weren't letting people in at the moment due to COVID). I wonder if that has now changed???-DaveXMT304 with: 22A Feeder, or HF251 Hi Freq DC TIG air cooled

Reply:Two things I like about Mcmaster here in northern San Diego county CA. in spite of their higher prices:1.They have the best parametric search to find exactly what you want, along with good dimesioned drawings for all the parts.2. Often they deliver the same day and almost always the next day.Kirk

Reply:You might take a look at S.W. Anderson http://www.swaco.com/. No sure of their bolt pricing but for PEM fasteners they did us right when ordering volume.
Reply:If you want good, genuine certified aircraft hardware at a reasonable price, consider Aircraft Spruce & Specialty (www.aircraftspruce.com).  No, you won't find 1" diameter bolts, you won't find all-thread, you won't find coarse threads.  Yes, you will have to order online, pay shipping, and wait a few days.  I started ordering extra hardware whenever I ordered other items and I now have a pretty decent assortment of #6, #8, #10, 1/4", 5/16", & 3/8" hardware.America Needs AMERICA'S Oil!!!"Global warming is the greatest scam in history ...There is no run away climate change. Reply:Thanks.  I only needed regular bolts, and the answer was already found through Tractor Supply.
