I just bought a century 100 amp arc welder model 110-104. Seems kinda strange to me how it's set up. Because both wire leads are on the same clamp....I know that can't be right can it??? I just got into welding year or so ago don't know much about these older welders. Can someone help.me out with this I don't want to power it up. Afraid it's going to blow up if I do.

Reply:Hehe. Is this your welder? If it is you got screwed out of the gun for it.
Reply:Is that a combination electrode holder-carbon arctorch? I have some sort of cheap welder with thatarrangement. It comes apart to make electrode holder and work clamp or slides together for carbonarc torch.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite

Heres a pic I found of a 50 amp Mini-welder identicalto mine. Electrode holder slides onto handle of work clamp to form carbon arc torch. Looks similar to OP s clamp from what I can see. Pretty cheesy looking. One of these days Ill need to try it out.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
