I am a Building Engineer in PHILADELPHIA, so I have many trade hats as you would know. I would like to start learning how to weld, 1st starting off at home just tinkering around and then when I get good fabricating new brackets and repairing damaged ones. I wanted to know what Type of set-up is best to start off with, w/o breaking the bank? I would like to Repair lighter weight brackets to middle weight brackets, down to fixing damaged hinges and so on. Also does anyone know of welding classes I could take in the Philly area?

Reply:Most all of the craftsman machines are made by century, who is now owned by Lincoln. For light to medium use you will do okay with them http://www.welding.com/school_pennsylvania.shtmlStangnetShop Full Of Stuff. Joey
Reply:I've had my lincoln weld pak for 9 years it gets used constantly. it got me started in business and i still use it almost everyday. i have never had one problem with it breaking down, it has been one of the most reliable small welders I've ever had.
Reply:Thanks for the help guys!! Thanks for the link also!!
