I am new to welding and am using MM 135 with an Argon CO2 mix. My question is how do I know when the tank needs to be refilled? Is the gas flow OK until the gages drop to zero or is there a decrease in pressure when the tank is low? Also why are there 2 gages on the regulator and what pressure range on these gages should I be looking for? Thanks
Reply:Usually the gauge closest to the tank indicates the pressure within the tank. When I pick mine up they usually run 2,200 - 2,300 psi. The other gauge will show you the cubic feet per hour (CFH) of the gas flow which can be adjusted with the knob/screw on the regulator.I usually run my large tank down to where the tank pressure gauge doesn't hardly show anything then get it filled. I've got a small tank that I keep as a backup just in case I get caught short on a weekend. Of course I might be more conservative if I wasn't just welding for myself. If you run out of gas while welding you'll notice it TinkerCentury 135GS, ThermalArc 250GTS
