I am looking to purchase a new mig welder and i just wanted a few suggestions on what one to buy? I just want it for my garage , i don't do much heavy welding but i want it to be able to weld anything that i need to weld as i get better. I also would like to weld aluminum also so if anyone can help me on this i would appreciate it. I would like to have either a lincoln or a miller welder and it has to be mig. ie of welding projects done in the past are a go cart skidoo overhaul, light stand but want to go bigger also.                           Thanks

Reply:Couple of things you mentioned, one being you want to be able to weld aluminum and the second thing is you want something that will be able to handle projects further down the road as your skills improve. If you could possibly swing it go for an MM 210 you will never look back to regret it. The 180's and 175's might be able to handle some aluminum  you would be much better off with the MM210 and it would be all the welder you should ever need if you are looking for a Mig. There is an awful lot of people that have started out with the 135 and 175 class welders that have made the step up to the mm210.  You will find welding addicting once you get started. With the 135's and the 175's they are both good machines but more than likely after the welding addiction sets in you will be wanting to make bigger projects that would some day require a bigger welder.
