I have a wire feed lincoln but it's just not enough.it's not clean enough, nor can it do what I want.I'm looking for something that will be able to weld aluminum and stainless steel pipes. Must be airtight. It's fairly thin, less than 1/4 inch. The problem is that I don't know what is needed, nor how much, nor where to get it.Can anyone offer any advice and recommendations?
Reply:something in the 175 amp range sounds about right, i always here that is is good to have the power from a 210 amp machine available thoughStangnetShop Full Of Stuff. Joey
Reply:I would go with a AC/DC Tig(GMAW) welder get one in the 175-200amp range, bigger is better in this case. Get formal training from a Community College or a Tech school. Start with the oxygen and acetylene(hand torch) class then do a basic stick(SMAW) class then tackle the TIG(GMAW) course.Hope this helps. Reply:Thanks for your replies. They were helpful.I'm looking here to get an idea of pricehttp://store.cyberweld.com/tigwelders1.htmlBut am still a little unsure, even after your advice, which one to look into.I don't see (GMAW) anywhere, but I do see (GTAW)I'm really new at this. Having a friend who's taken welding classes show me the ropes, but he's out of town for a while.
Reply:Try www.weldingmart.com. And, by the way, the correct abbrevations are: stick=smaw, mig=gmaw, fluxcore=fcaw, tig=gtaw. Up Brett had them a little mixed up.A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter Victor O/A

Reply:lmao...you know what though, my wife got this thing called a snuggly for our 3 month old. I guess my mom got it first but anyways its really awesome. For his age he has to ride in front of me facing me. Later he can ride facing away from me and even later he can ride behind me. Its a great idea for a way to hold the kids and still do stuff. I wouldnt take him welding though, them lil legs might get in the way Good luckCHRIS
Reply:UP BRETT, just to let you know, I wasnt trying to be sarcastic or anything, just wanted the right info to get out to the new guys. I know about the little one and how hard it is to take care of and keep track of them. Mine is almost 4yrs now, dont know if it was easier when he was younger or easier now. You might want to try rigging something up with velcro though, lol !!! TxRedneck has the idea though, I know and have seen the device he is talking about. Around my area, I believe they call them a pappose pack or something similar. I wish I would have thought of having one when mine was younger.A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter Victor O/A |
