just wondering if this ever happened to anyone else. i was welding with my lincoln electric weld pak 100 and out of nowhere the wire feed stopped. i thought the spool was empty and turned it off and checked. the spool was still half full so i turned it back on and it's worked fine since,.\am i hallucinating, or does this sometimes happen with wire feed machines or should i dust off the receipt. i bought the machine in july and have been very happy with it.thankskev
Reply:You could probably send lincoln cust. serv. an e-mail and find out the low-down on any common defects. Start the paper/e-trail early just in case it is a problem. I have found that they are really up front with common problems ... even if you buy the item used, they provide good support. That's why they are one of the big 2....folks arent afraid they will get stuck with a welder that is orphaned by its maker.Last edited by smithboy; 09-26-2005 at 12:23 PM.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:could be the welder protecting itself. It should be able to shut itself down if it feels that it has been getting too hot. Check the duty cycle, and if that is it, don't just turn it off and run it again-you'll wind up with more problems than you think.
Reply:from lincolns website http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...eet.asp?p=7106Rated CV Output Amps/Volts/Duty Cycle 88/18/20%i would assume it was the duty cycle, but check with lincoln as smithboy suggests |
