Not necessarily a welding question - but here goes.I have some el cheapo "stone" tops. I am going to weld up some steel frames and put the two together to make some accent tables.Could some of you experts tell me a good way to attach the steel frames to the stone tops. I do not want to use angle to make a tray to set the stone in. Doesn't achieve the look I want. The tops are only about 1/2" thick. Thanks
Reply:Silicone adhesive on a very flat surface.
Reply:Thanks for the reply. That was my first thought.I am going to give it a try. I will post some pics, however, it may be a while.Busy time of year...
Reply:another thing you can do is get a masonry drill bit and drill some small divits or holes into the stone and weld some small posts or beads onto the top of the metal so that it will hold the stone in place that way. Just make sure you measure well and line them up correctly. |
