of leaving up to an inch and a half of wire sticking out past the end of the cup after releasing the trigger.I have found if I release the trigger and then tap it once, as fast as I can, the wire will burn back about even with the cup or close enough that I don't have to bend the wire or cut it off to start again. Yes it will start with to much wire sticking out but usually leaves some unburned wire hanging around to be removed later. Question is, what causes it and can the machine be adjusted to prevent it?
Reply:My machine doesn't do that. The wire feed stops when I release the trigger. What brand machine do you have?John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:slow the wire speed feed down a little at a time 'till you get what you want...i would guess ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Alan, we have two LN-7 feeders at the shop. One will overfeed on shut off(like yours) The other one stops the wire at around 3/8" stick-out. I have yet to figure it out---Try tightening your spool tension.
