Reply:i dont think the polarity has anything to do with anything...i have a lincoln 125 at the shop..you can use fluxcore (witch we do) or gas in this machine...and it only has a "on-off"" switch on it...no polarity switch anywhere.....see?Attachment 3925...zap!Last edited by zapster; 12-27-2007 at 05:20 PM.I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:My Lincoln SP175 plus has instructions for changing polarity when using fluxcore. Solid wire MIG is DC- and fluxcore requires DC+. There is a hot and a ground which are easily changed from one post to another to provide the necessary polarity. This shown in the instruction manual and also on the data table inside the box.
Reply:The small Lincoln's don't have a switch. The polarity is changed by swapping the work and gun cables in the wirefeed compartment. Page 12 of the manual. Not very convenient if you want to switch between FCAW and GMAW frequently. My angle grinder is my best friend!
Reply:see? we learn something new everyday in all reality when i get the tig up and running i'm gonna forget all about the other welding machines in the shop.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
