Ok guys I rebuilt the carb, changed plugs, changed oil and filter, and put a fuel filter on my sa-200 f-162 continental but it still lopes or spurts while idling unless I turn the air/gas mixture screw all the way in, is that bad, or is it ok to use the machine with it all the way in like that? The Carb is a Marvel-Schebler. Thanks
Reply:i think its suppose to lope and surge without no load on it..what does it do under "full throttle" while welding?.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Go to the Lincoln website and download their manual number "IM-179-G".That assumes you have an old mechanical idler. If you have an electronic idler the manual is "IM-277".It will give you the proper adjustment of the entire fuel control system, and your surge will become but a memory.Ignore anyone telling you it's supposed to surge and lope.JTMcC.While you're at it you might as well change the points, cap and rotor in the mag. All of these parts are available at your local NAPA, or any good parts house that serves the equipment market.Last edited by JTMcC; 07-30-2006 at 05:05 PM.
