Any one using a drawing program on the puter for layout?I saw a mention of Googles program and it is kinda neat but it wants to re-size the whole drawing, not just the piece you just did.I'd like something I could draw a 2-d drawing and didn't cost an arm let alone a leg.
Reply:Any one using a drawing program on the puter for layout?not me ..i use this twisted mind of mine instead of a computer screen and sometimes a piece of scrap paper......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Microsoft Visio.Weldtek
Reply:I use visio also, but wish I had training. I'm slow at it. But all I do with it is parts layout. I would like to know more about it though, it seems like one of the better programs. I have tried google sketch, blender and some others I don't seem to remember. Visio seems like the friendliest.Any books I can buy, Weldtek, to learn more about using this program? I would like to do 3d drawings and larger types of layouts/layers.Bill
Reply:Bill google "visio tutorials" im not sure how many will be helpfull, but it found 1100 sites and its cheaper than micro$oft books. im sure some are advertisements but some look promisingJim
Reply:Sorry Bill, try lurzd's advice. I've been doing autocad for awhile so I just kinda fell into Visio.Weldtek
Reply:I use Visio nearly everyday and there are some sites out there that will provide free stencils for different industries. It's not very good for 3-D but it is awesome for 2-D faces. Also, you can open up .dwg and .dxf files in it from CAD programs and convert them to Visio objects. Once they are converted you can manipulate the objects and easily change the drawing. If you set aside about an hour to play with it you'll get the hang of if.Michael |
