ok few question.can i tig weld in a wooden shed?? is preparing to weld just like mig? so i just earth it and go. and im going to run it of a petrol genorator outside of the shed is that safe? like i know if i miged it could blow but will rays of tig do anything to the fual or genorato??thanks alot-Ryan
Reply:Just use common sense. Your tig welder has no slag, unless you weld a tube shut, then it will likely blow out on you. But they are generally very quiet, smoke free, and fairly hazardless. A wood shed would be just fine. The UV rays will only give the equivalent of a rapid sunburn when exposed to them without any protection for a while. There is no danger for other tools from them. You won't start a fire from the arc or anything like that. Have fun!!
Reply:but NEVER do any welding around any fuelallways have an fire extinguisher nearby and or water hose just be safe RYAN it mostly conmon sense. look, think, be safe with Tig it needs to cleaner (more prep to the item you are welding, wire brush and accetone) than using MigLast edited by prop-doctor; 10-20-2006 at 01:12 AM.
