Hello to all this my first post here'I need to find out the correct regulator pressures in both oxygen and propane for cutting 5mm to 12mm mild steel. Can anyone help ?Best regards...........
Reply:I would use a number one and a zero tips for that cutting range.  I use Liquid Air brand so the pressures may vary according to preference.  I use 20 psi for oxy and five for propane.  If I had to cut 12mm  ( half inch with the zero tip) I would boost my oxy up around 25 to 30 psi.  You have a fair bit of play by changing pressure, size of tip, cutting speed and size of preheat cones.  By radical adjustments you can cut one inch ( 25mm ) plate with a zero tip.  A normal choice would be a number two tip.  I never raise my fuel pressure until I am cutting something like two inch or thicker.
