Hello guys. I got word through my dad that the Boilermaker's Union around here (Great Lakes Area Local 374) is taking applications for apprenticeships. I have a fair of experience in MIG and TIG welding, and enjoy the heck out of welding, but I'm still kind of shady on what exactly a "boilermaker" does. Or is it kind of a general term that includes many different jobs. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has any kind of experience. Right now I work in a body shop doing restos/customs and interior work, and I really love it, but I just don't love where I'm doing it at (or how much I'm getting paid) and there are no other shops in this area that really do that, so I'm exploring options in somewhat related trades. Thanks in advance!-Sean |
