I just acquired an old Hobart Powerweld, it just has not been used for 20 years. I got it running and it runs good(Power by FORD), but no weld output. I think that the generator needs to be "flashed", but I dont have a book. Does anyone have a manual or info on this. Thanks, John.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:This might be useful: http://www.dieselduck.ca/library/tec..._generator.htm Good luck!If you don't have the time to do it right, then you definitely don't have the time to do it over.
Reply:I think I found the problem, coroded connections every where. I am just going to spend an off day, take the whole machine down and clean it all. Like I said it just sat idle for 20 years INSIDE. Judging from how much meat is on the brushes and how good the engine runs, I think it was used sparingly. This is going to be my "hotrod" welder anyway. I am going to paint it gloss black with flames and 2 chrome exhaust stacks.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
