I have never oiled my regulators because I can't find the specified "NO" oil. What are you men using?
Reply:I'm not an expert but I think that 'NO' means "NO" to any oil in the regulator!Oxygen and oil = combustion. >Or... is this a 'warped and twisted' condition Denrep? Rick V
Reply:I haven't figured out where to buy "no" oil. I think my truck uses the same stuff. Mechanic said, "if you don't put no oil in it, it'll seize up".
Reply:You can't buy it any where that I know of lol!
Reply:I have some for sale. NO brand gauge oil.  It's $1500.00 an ounce.

Reply:I can "no-oil" it remotely for ya...just hold your computer monitor in front of the regulator and chant the magic words "ohm...ohm...kHz".   And there you have it.  If your monitor will not reach...then just print the screen and use the paper copy.  For a bit more $, you can get the self-no-oil regulators.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:The 6X cup holder on my computer is sticking would some N O oil help slide in and out smoothly?
Reply:The most important thing to remember when oiling oxy regs is to have your hospitilazation and life insurance paid up.  Hope this helps.DennisThermal Arc 185-TSWMillermatic Challenger 172VictorO/AAtlas Craftsman 12 by 24 LatheEsab PCM-875Wholesalem Tool Mill-Drill
Reply:The story I was told from an old timer is years ago guys would use regulator pressure gauges as oil pressure gauges on their tractors, and other engines, seems as somebody used one for this purpose, and then installed it on an oxygen regulator, not good!!!
Reply:You can get it at your LWS, right next to the argoff bottles.

Reply:Is NO oil used for anything else?Once when the company put me up at a cheap hotel, with thin walls, I could here; “NO, NO, NO, don’t stop” May have been electricians feeding wire, I'm not sure.

Reply:In all seriousness, oxygen and ANY COMBUSTIBLE is a recipe for disaster, petrolium products and other hydrocarbons are just that much worse. Just the firefighter in me wanting to let you all know. Next to propane, oxygen scares the you-know-what out of me. Treat it with the respect (healthy dose of fear) it deserves.

Reply:Roy is right.  We should make sure to point out that, although this started out in jest, never, never, never use oil in an oxygen regulator or anything that is high pressure and promotes combustion.  Although I have never seen it happen, I have seen pictures of an exploded oxygen regulator and I can only imagine the potential effects on folks around it.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.

Reply:I think we keep the N-O oil next to our 5/32 stringer beads, right below the cans of arc start, and to the right of our #9 sky hooks. That's just us though. I know we have it, we send our new guys for it all the time!   HenryA bad welder makes a good grinderA grinder and paint makes a welder that ain't!If you can't put a good weld on it, put alot of weld on it!I have never oiled my regulators because I can't find the specified "NO" oil.
