required ASME code sections for NBIC R stampIt has been 10yrs scent's I have been in Quality control and if i remember right a company would need ASME section I,II part A,B,C,D and IV,V,VIII plus section IX. This would be the min. besides of course the NBIC manual. Any info would help. thanksSBG Welding
Reply:The sections you need depend on the scope of your QC manual. You need to have on site, or available, sections relevant to the work scope covered by you manual, and need to have on site those setions needed for work that is actually being done. (Your milage may vary- this is what I was told last review, as we don't need some sections for current work, but they cover work within the scope of our manual) For example, if you never deal with non-ferrous, you may not need secIIB (nonferrous) on site. If you don't deal with vessels running at greater than 15PSIG, you shouldn't need secVIII, and so on. Note that the interpretation of 'vailable' may vary, and may be relatively liberal or quite strict, depending on the section and the scope of your work. Your AI is our best friend, here, as to what you will actually need on hand.
